Awards Banquet 2008

March 15, 2008

The annual membership banquet was held at Station 1. The evening kicked off with a catered meal by La Cucina in Hanover. All the guests were introduced and awards were then handed out by the Chief and President. After that music and dancing was provided by DJ Bill Capetta.

Awards were as follows:

President's Award - Kevin "Chicken" Costella

Chief's Award - Chris Markle

Business Award - Myers' Meat Market

A Brother Laid to Rest

October 9, 2007

On October 9, 2007 Buchanan Valley Fire Department's Firefighter/EMT Adam Cole was laid to rest. Adam died in the line of duty while responding to a mountain fire on October 4. Over 100 firefighters and emergency personnel from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia attended the funeral. A firefighter's farewell was given to Adam. An abundance of fire apparatus attended including Service 29 and Brush 29. Our prayers are continued for Adam's family and friends. Our prayers also continue for the members of the Buchanan Valley Fire Department.

Adams County Brother Lost in Line of Duty

Adam Cole 5/25/1983 - 10/04/2007

SAVES would like to express our condolences to the family and friends of Adam Cole. We would also like to express our condolences to our brothers, the "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" at the Buchanan Valley Fire Department. Adam was killed on October 4th, 2007, in the LINE OF DUTY while responding to a mountain fire. He was a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician with BVFD.
