Busy Past Weeks For SAVES

The past few weeks have been busy here at SAVES. For several weeks, the facilities committee has been hard at work updating the aged HVAC system in the station with the installation by DESCO Services. In the mean time, members handled multiple calls during this time frame. Members handled a mutual aid transfer to Carroll County, MD to cover Taneytown while they operated on a structure fire. Busy Maintenance Week for SAVES

This week has been a busy week so far for the in house operations of SAVES. First, our floors in the station and in the banquet hall have been waxed and are ready for use. Next we had an outside vendor come in for our annual ladder and aerial testing. Finally we had all of our hose tested, as is the usual every year. Car Fire and Overnight Transfer

Car Fire: Yesterday, crews from SAVES and HAFR (York Company 79) responded to a car fire in the area of Wilson Ave and Carlisle Pike. Units arrived on scene to find a station wagon with the engine compartment and part of the passenger compartment engulfed in flames. Crews worked together to extinguish the flames. Life Discovery Church Easter Egg Hunt

Company 29 was requested for an apparatus display and PR event for a local church. Engine 29 and Service 29 attended the Annual Easter Egg Hunt of Life Discovery Church in McSherrystown. Transfer Assignment

At 14:20 Hrs. Engine/Tanker 29 was requested to standby at York County Station 12 (North Codorus Township Fire Department), while their units operated on a working structure fire.
